Looking to migrate your team from Slack to Google authentication? We've got you covered!
Before continuing to the below steps, notify your Customer Success Manager or support@teampay.co, as there will be a configuration change necessary on the Teampay side.
1. To begin, an Admin will navigate to Apps → Web and mobile apps
2. Select Add App -> Add custom SAML app
3. Enter all the information and download the metadata file.
4. Navigate to Teampay and select Organization Settings within the top right corner dropdown in the web app.
5. Select Connect within the 'SAML System Connect' section.
6. Choose Google SAML, you will then receive an Integration ID in response.
7. Navigate back to the Google SAML page and enter the ACS URL, Entity ID, and Start URL (see below for example).
In this example, the fields would be entered as such:
- ACS URL: https://app.teampay.co/loginwith/saml/Integration ID/
- Entity ID: https://app.teampay.co/
- Start URL: (Integration ID)
8. Include the custom user attributes that will be mapped to Teampay.
Ensure the following are configured:
Primary email -> email
First name -> first_name
Last name -> last_name
9. Select Test SAML Login - You will be prompted to turn 'User Access ON' for everyone
10. Navigate back to Teampay and ensure you can successfully log in.
FAQs
If migrating from Slack, is this a hard switch that will cause interruptions?
No, consider the migration a soft switch. Users will still be able to log in via Slack SSO until the first time they authenticate via the Google app you have just created. Once the initial Google login is successful, this will remain their authentication type going forward.
If migrating from Slack, will users lose access to their Teampay Slack app?
Of course not! Users will have continued access to the Teampay Slack app.
