Teampay uses fuzzy matching to ensure the real-time organizing of your vendors when the transaction is processed. This takes the hassle out of vendor categorization at the end of the month. We base our matching off of a few different factors to make sure we are grouping your vendors accurately.
First, we take into account who your requestor said they were requesting the card for and who they actually swiped at. So, if your requestor says they are purchasing from Amazon but swipes at Hubspot- we will check to see if there is a history of either one of those vendors being used prior. If both vendors exist, we will use the vendor that charged the card.
In the event that one of the vendors doesn’t exist - then we will match the transaction to the vendor that has already been created.
If both vendors do not exist, then we will create a new vendor based on where the card was charged and a vendor for who was requested. Then, we will match to the vendor that the card was swiped at.
